On Board With Us

Thank you to everyone who donated to add your name – or the name of someone special – to one of our helicopters or critical care cars.

Every day, our helicopters take off, and our critical care cars hit the road to reach people in life-threatening situations across the North West. But this lifesaving service doesn’t exist without you.

We are thrilled to announce your chosen name or names are now on our helicopter and car.

They will be proudly displayed for a full year, travelling with our crew on every mission. This is more than a donation. You’re right there with us – for every mile, every patient, and every life-changing moment.

From all of us at the charity, we want to say a huge thank you for your support and commitment. Carrying your chosen name is an honour and deeply meaningful to us all.

Thank you for being On Board With Us.

The campaign will reopen late 2026, for both individual and non-profit organisations. Register your interest now to be the first to know when names can be submitted.

Here’s how your donation could help

We wouldn’t be here without you. Your generosity funds our life-changing and lifesaving service. By getting On Board With Us, your minimum £50 or £100 donation can make a big impact. Here’s a couple of ways we could use your donation and help patients across the North West.

£50 could buy

a rapid sequence induction drug set. This set of drugs is essential to be able to put a patient in an induced coma, protecting their brain and allowing us to manage their breathing.

£50 could fund

a critical care car for five days. Your donation could help us reach patients when they need us most.

On Board With Us will be back later this year.

If you missed out last time or want to continue to be with us on our missions, register today to be the first to know when the campaign is back. We’ll be emailing all supporters who register before the campaign is public, and with limited space on the helicopter, don’t miss the chance to secure your place.

Frequently Asked Questions

On Board With Us will open for name submissions late 2026, the specific date is to be confirmed.

If you’d like to be the first to know when the campaign is live, register your interest via the form at the end of the page.

You can dedicate a name to yourself, a loved one, a friend, or in memory of someone special. Non-profit organisations may submit the name of their, organisation, club, group, or community initiative. Businesses and commercial organisations are not eligible to participate in the campaign.

Only one individual or organisation name may be submitted per donation. Multiple names, such as “John and Joan Smith” or “Village Walkers and Readers Club”, are not permitted and will require a separate qualifying donation for each individual or organisation named.

Names are capped at 30 characters each, including any spaces for individuals and capped at 60 for non-profit organisations. We are unable to accept sentences, special characters (for example !*#&@), emojis, political statements or offensive language.

We are unable to accept names for-profit businesses, companies, and commercial organisations.

Each donation for individuals allows for one full name only, up to a maximum of 30 characters. A full name may include a title, forename, middle name(s), and surname. For example, “Mr John Edward Smith” would be accepted as a single name.

Each donation for non-profit organisations allows for one full name only, up to a maximum of 60 characters If you would like to include more than one person or organisation, a separate qualifying donation is required for each name. For example, “John and Joan Smith” or “Village Walkers and Readers Club” would count as multiple names and would therefore require separate donations.

If you would like to submit multiple names, please contact our Supporter Engagement team on 0800 587 4570. If you submit more than one name, we cannot guarantee that they will appear next to each other on the vehicle.

Only new donations to the ‘On Board With Us’ campaign will qualify for submitting a name to put on a vehicle. Donations previously made generally or to other campaigns will not qualify.

It is the responsibility of the person submitting the name to ensure accuracy.

However, if you notice an error when you receive your certificate, please contact our Supporter Engagement team on 0800 587 4570 or email enquiries@nwairambulance.org.uk within seven days of receiving your certificate. We will do our best to accommodate changes, however we cannot guarantee this.

The minimum donation is to ensure NWAA can cover the costs of adding the names to the helicopters, and so as much funds as possible go back to our lifesaving services. Unfortunately, you cannot Gift Aid this as we are requesting a minimum donation amount.

We welcome any additional amount over the minimum requirement of £50 for individuals or £100 for non-profit organisations for submitting a name.

When donating and submitting your selected name, you will be asked if you have a preference whether your submitted name appears on a helicopter or a critical care vehicle.

NWAA will make every effort to apply this preference however we cannot guarantee that the submitted name will be placed in the preferred location due to availability of space.

The printing areas of the helicopter are on the underside of the aircraft. The printing area of the critical care vehicle is located on the roof of the vehicle.

Submitted names will be randomly allocated a location within the printing areas on a vehicle.

Donations via the website:

If you make your donation online through the NWAA website, you will receive an automatic confirmation email. During the donation process, you can choose to receive your name submission certificate either by email or by post.

To ensure we can send your certificate and keep you updated on the campaign, please provide your full postal address and email address when making your donation.

If you choose to receive your certificate by post and provide a postal address, you will receive a thank-you letter and certificate following your donation. One certificate will be issued for each nominated name.

The campaign will close on 26th February 2027. We will contact donors by email or letter to let you know when your name is being applied to the vehicle and how to locate it online.

Any wider marketing communications (such as updates about other NWAA campaigns or appeals) will only be sent if you have given your consent to receive them, in line with our Privacy Policy at www.nwairambulance.org.uk/privacy-policy.

Donations via post:

For submissions made via post, we will send you a confirmation letter following your submission, which will then be shortly followed by a certificate. Each nominated name will receive a certificate.

Entries for submissions will close on 26th February 2027 and the decals with the submitted names will be applied to the vehicles by end of May 2027.

Your submitted name will appear on the vehicle for a minimum of 12 months.

NWAA may photograph and video the aircraft for use in media releases, publications, social media, our website, and third-party media. While individual names won’t be highlighted, supporters understand and accept that their submitted name(s) may be identifiable from the design.

Once the names have been added to the vehicles, NWAA will be in touch with supporters to share a PDF of names across each vehicle. Supporters will then be able to search for their own name within the document.

Following your donation, you will receive a personalised commemorative certificate along with a confirmation letter. We will do our best to send these promptly, but please be mindful of posting dates and deadlines, particularly around Christmas. Donations made in mid to late December may mean certificates arrive after Christmas.
