On 29th November, Members of West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce’s Member Focus Group presented a cheque worth £11,646 to North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA) after the significant donation was raised at the Chamber’s Annual Ball & Recognition Awards.

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-themed event was hosted to celebrate the Chamber’s Annual Recognition Awards winners.

Funds were raised for NWAA through a raffle and auction with prizes kindly donated by members of the Chamber and the local business community.

Guests dug deep into their pockets and, along with a hugely generous donation from Barclays Bank of £3,000, a total of £11,646 was raised!

Chris Andrews, Corporate Partnership Officer at North West Air Ambulance Charity, reflected on the evening: “Thank you so much to all the team at West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce for the incredible amount raised at the annual awards evening. It was such a fantastic night and wonderful to see the superb work being done by Chamber members across the region.

“We were lucky enough to welcome some members from the Chamber to our airbase a couple of weeks after the awards evening where they were able to see the impact of the £11,646, they raised. Every aspect of what the North West Air Ambulance Charity does is funded by charitable income. Without people like those who attended the Chamber Awards, we wouldn’t exist. Thank you so much!”

Sarah Bailey, CEO at the West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce, added: “It was brilliant to visit the North West Air Ambulance Charity’s air base with the Member Focus Group last week to see how the funds raised by our generous Annual Ball guests will be used.

“With the charity needing £18m a year to remain operational, we are so pleased to be able to contribute and if what we raised can help just two people with the incredible support provided by the charity, it was all worth it! Thank you to everyone who either donated a prize for the raffle and auction or took part in the fundraising on the night, your support will make a huge difference.”
