On the 28th of February, the North West Air Ambulance Charity held their first corporate crew event at their Barton Airbase in Manchester.
The charity invited businesses from across the North West to their first Corporate Crew event, where they were able to learn more about the charity and network with other businesses.
The ‘Corporate Crew’ is an exclusive members club and business group, businesses who join have exclusive insight into the operations of the region’s leading enhanced pre-hospital care service.
The first Corporate Crew event featured a networking breakfast and a tour of the Barton airbase including a tour of the helicopters.
The guests were then given an exclusive Video laryngoscope (VL) demonstration from two of the Charity’s critical care paramedics. This is a vital piece of kit that the crew use to manage a patient’s airway if they need intubation.
The guests were then able to partake in a Q&A with the crew members, as well as gain an insight into the patients whose lives have been saved by the charity.
Before the event ended, the guests were given a ‘goody bag’ to take away that featured a video card of a patient story as well as more information about the charity and how to show their continued support.
Critical Care Paramedic Lee said: “For the businesses that have attended today, we’ve just tried to show them what we do as a charity, in the provision of enhanced pre-hospital care.”
Danny Williams from Next Level Consultancy said: “I really enjoyed the event, I think it’s been very powerful to see the impact of the North West Air Ambulance Charity has on people’s lives. I think ultimately that £12 million a year to keep the charity going is vital and it comes from a range of areas which isn’t government funded and needs that corporate support.”
Nicola Stanwix from Fletchers Solicitors said: “It’s just been fantastic to speak to the crew, have a look at the helicopter and really learn about the critical care aspect that the air ambulance brings, which wasn’t something I was aware of before. With it being a charity and not having that government, it’s so important for people to have that awareness of what the North West Air Ambulance Charity brings.”
